  • What does a recruitment agency do?

    A recruitment agency aims to help employers to find suitable candidates for their job openings, often recruiting on behalf of an internal human resources or talent acquisition team. The process begins with the agency working with the company to understand their hiring needs to get an understanding of the specifics of the job vacancy (everything from the duties of the position, to organisational culture, and company benefits/salary offered). The agency will then go on to search for qualified candidates that match the ideal criteria to fill those positions.  


    Recruitment agencies work alongside candidates throughout the process, offering support and guidance throughout the journey - often maintaining contact with the candidates following the placement to see if there is any further way that they can assist, and to see how they are finding the position.

    Here at Lotus People, we work very closely with our candidates and employers to understand their needs, wants, and motivations. Our process on the candidate side begins with an initial phone screen, then moving to a virtual interview to assess a candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications. It is at this point in time that we run through our values and processes here at Lotus People also.   


    If there is an alignment deemed between the candidate and the job vacancy at this point, we look to recommend the individual to our clients, who will then determine if they wish to take them through to the next stage of the process.  


    We also look to maintain close contact with our candidates throughout their overall job search- actively seeking new opportunities for them with our top tier clients, as well as conducting regular check-ins to see how they are finding the market, and if there are any additional means by which we can assist. 


    Following placement within a role, we ensure to stay in touch with our candidates to offer support throughout the onboarding process, as well as to see how they have settled into the position. Candidate care is of the utmost importance to us – we aim to offer the highest level of service and assistance to try and help make the job-hunting process seamless and stress-free.

  • Do I need to pay to work with Lotus People?

    There is no fee required to work with Lotus People – our goal is to align candidates with the best opportunity for them and this comes at no cost to the individual.  


    Salaries and hourly rates are not negatively impacted by working with an agency – we always pay in line with Fair Work Australia and often pay above award rates. The client or company with which we’ve partnered with is the party who is responsible to pay for the recruitment service.  

  • How long does it take to find a job?

    The length of time it takes to find a job can vary depending on your qualifications and the job market. However, due to the extensive network of potential employers, and established relationships in place – our team can often help to find you a new opportunity in a shorter span of time than if you were to search on your own.  


    We also have access to a variety of job openings that may not be publicly advertised, additionally we have the ability to reach out to our established clients to gauge if there are any suitable opportunities aligning with the skillset of candidates that we are working with.  


    We strongly recommend being as responsive as you can – the sooner you come back to calls, texts, or emails, the sooner we will be able to place you in a new role!
