#BreakTheBias – Lotus People supporting the women of Afghanistan

Today is a day where we acknowledge and support communities and workplaces working towards a world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive as we try to #BreakTheBias this International Women’s Day, and beyond.

Despite the progress made in many countries, there is still a continuous need worldwide for more vocal allies, especially in Afghanistan where the recent humanitarian crisis leaves more than 23 million people on the brink of starvation. Women and children face the most threats to the most basic of human rights in the midst of economic and political crises, leading to loss of homes, families, and opportunities to live free of violence and discrimination. Millions are left in poverty and women’s rights are hugely impacted – they need urgent support now.

Inspired by Canva’s recent appeal(link), Lotus People want to extend our support beyond Australia this #internationalwomensday by encouraging anyone who would like to get involved to donate directly to Médecins Sans Frontières, the UNHCR, and the Organization for Development Solutions. (links as per Canva article).

For Lotus People, the time to act is now. We are committing $100 per placement for our next 5 roles placed to foundations and organisations supporting Afghan refugees and striving to support from all the way across the globe.

Will you #BreakTheBias with us?
